Military clothing is a set of army uniforms, which includes many elements that a serviceman uses depending on the nature of a combat task or military exercises. The time of year or weather conditions are also especially important when using one or another element of military clothing.
Some of the main criteria for the use of military clothing are:
- Comfort. Clothing and its elements should be as comfortable as possible for the military, should not cause any discomfort, so that when performing a task, a soldier or an officer does not think about any discomfort caused by the uniform but is concentrated on the task as much as possible.
- Functionality, based on a well-thought design, the number and location of pockets, non-standard solutions for inherent military tasks.
- The quality and durability of the materials from which the clothes are sewn. This component directly affects the “durability” of the uniform, which is subject to more intensive wear during the performance of combat tasks, which includes a large amount of physical exertion in field conditions, sitting, lying down, in dirty conditions, etc. Materials and technologies used in sewing a specific item of clothing play a significant role. For example, the use of water-repellent materials for a windproof jacket allows you to perform combat tasks in rainy or wet conditions.
- Color, type of camouflage, etc. which should be acceptable to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
When selecting military clothing, a volunteer must be guided by the clothing size chart when he plans to purchase for the military because there is a large number of variations of size guides, which is based on the country of origin of the uniform (Ukraine, NATO countries, etc.). It should also be noted that sometimes sizes can “run small”; therefore, in addition, you need to find out the measurements of a particular item of clothing and compare it with the measurements of the fighter.
When choosing clothes for the military, it is also important to pay attention to the technical indicators, materials, and technologies used in the manufacturing of the clothing. This information will help you to understand clearly whether a certain model of clothing is suitable or not.
To understand which tasks the military performs is particularly important. A personal conversation with him/her will allow you to understand under which conditions he/she fights in, what clothes he/she has already been given, and which specific items he/she needs additionally.
It is also significant to understand exactly which uniform camouflage is suitable for military service. According to the Charter of the Armed Forces of Ukraine the official camouflage is the “Ukrainian pixel”, however, the following types of camouflage are also unofficially allowed: Multicam (MTP), Varan (developed by Ukrainian volunteers), etc.
