Combat cap (field cap) is one of the options of military head covers in the summer. Protecting the soldier’s head in summer and the warm months of the year from sunburn is the main goal when using this component of the combat set. It is used more often in regular conditions in the rear units, but combat caps are also worn in the field, during combat missions, using it as an alternative to a bucket hat. It depends on the personal preferences of the figures.
The field cap is made in the form of a mazepinka, the head covering of Ukrainian military formations of different periods of our country’s history. It is made of 100% cotton. This is due to the fact that the cap is used mainly in sunny summer weather and should not only protect the head from the solar radiation effects but also prevent the head from intense sweating. Therefore, any use of synthetic fabrics should be excluded. It is also worth noting that the cotton fabric is quite soft to the touch and does not cause unpleasant irritation of the scalp during prolonged wear. The fabric is easy to care for, has no special restrictions when cleaning or washing, and is quite wear-resistant, which is a definite advantage.
The cut of the cap is cylindrical; this can be explained by the fact that when wearing a cap for a long time, it should keep its original shape, should not deform, or have a tight fit on the head. The visor of the cap is sewn in such a way that it does not block the wide view of the serviceman and at the same time it makes a shadow canopy for him/her so that the sun does not dazzle his/her eyes. For additional ventilation, special eyelets are provided on the side of the headgear; they allow air to pass through.
The design of statutory field caps includes a cockade sewn in the center of the front part of the cap. The headgear itself is made in MM14 camouflage (Ukrainian pixel), combining it with other elements of Ukrainian military clothing.
The size guide of the product is represented by standard head sizes (sizes 54-62), and the size corresponds to the head circumference in centimeters. There are also standard sizes XS-XL, so you should pay attention to the correspondence of the sizes in the size tables provided by the manufacturer.
Other tactical hats (brands 5.11, Helicon, M-Tac, etc.) can also be used as analogous to field caps.
