A fez/helmet (balaclava) cap and a winter hat are indispensable components of a set of clothing for military personnel of all types of troops. They are used in conditions of low temperatures, protecting the serviceman’s head from the cold wind, frost, snow, etc. They are used regardless of the nature of the task.
The distinguishing feature is that the fez/helmet (balaclava) cap is used by military personnel in combination with a ballistic helmet, that is, it is worn directly under the helmet. The helmet cap is made from a light synthetic fleece type fabric. The upper part of the cap can be a single layer, with a vertical seam. The lower part is two-layer, with a horizontal seam. There are models both with and without ear holes. There are also models of single-layer fez hats with a flat seam.
A winter hat (cap) is used when a soldier is without a helmet. There are models made purely of fleece fabric, or of knitted fabric of a combined weave. The presence of fleece is an undeniable advantage because the fabric is light and synthetic, keeps heat well and removes moisture, which is particularly important in field conditions at low and extremely low temperatures. Such head covering prevents the head from getting cold, and the serviceman from catching a cold.
The most common colors are olive, coyote, MTP or MM14 camo, black, navy blue.
The hat/cap should fit comfortably, should not press anywhere, and at the same time fit the head snuggly. The main parameter used to determine the size of the hat is the head circumference in centimeters. The most common size guide is from 54 cm to 62 cm, the same parameters define sizes. There are also sizes according to the international classification (XXS-XXL). In this case, you should compare their correspondence in the size tables, if there are none, check them with the manufacturer.
