Winter and demi-season gloves

Their functions include: keeping the hands warm in the field and protecting them from injuries and frostbite.

The inherent properties of winter and demi-season gloves include, above all, thermoregulation. Gloves must protect the soldier’s hands from extremely low temperatures and be comfortable enough for the effective use of weapons in the field. At the same time, the hands should not overheat, avoiding high temperature within the glove, i.e., there should be no sweat buildup.

The quality and technological effectiveness of the materials the gloves are made of are also important. They should repel moisture, be strong and wear-resistant and have protective liners to prevent hand injury (cuts, abrasions, etc.).

For a certain category of the military, it is also desirable to have tactile inserts on the ends of the fingers of the gloves, allowing them to use sensory gadgets without removing the gloves (aerial reconnaissance, artillery, etc.). Gloves should be securely fixed on the hands for maximum isolation from external irritants (snow, water, etc.). The fixative can be either a cuff or a clasp (a fastener).

When choosing, pay attention to the materials the gloves are sewn from. Fleece is usually used as the inner material. It removes moisture well and leaves hands dry, which is especially important in winter. Inserts on the inside of the gloves (in the palms area) can be made of leather, which is durable and resistant. The rubberized palms of gloves have an increased grip, which significantly increases the efficiency of working with weapons, so use of this material on the palms is also allowed. Some models combine several materials.

When purchasing, pay attention to the size of the gloves, and ask about the size of the hands of the fighter. The size guide is represented by both classic S, M, L…etc., and standard hand sizes (8, 9, 10).

Among the most popular brands of winter tactical gloves for military personnel, we can recommend the following brands: Mechanix, Helicon, Mil-Tec, M-Tac.
