The PCS thermal jacket is an updated version of the previous Softie CS95 jacket, following a series of modernization and material improvements. This jacket is used by the UK armed forces. It can be worn as an outer layer of clothing or as a comfortable insulating lining under a wind and waterproof jacket. The thermal jacket is comfortable to wear in combination with body armor – it does not restrict movement and fully warms and retains heat.
The exterior of the jacket is made of lightweight, water-repellent Ripstop fabrics that allow the body to breathe while keeping the cold air out. The inside of the jacket is filled with high-tech Softie Premier, which is actually a synthetic substitute for the fluff. It is considered one of the best thermal insulations. This filler is similar in many ways to the previous Softie jacket but has more advanced synthetic fibers and binding resins. The insulation also has adjustable cuffs on the sleeves and collar to ensure maximum thermal insulation. There is an option to adjust the jacket with drawstrings on the belt. The jacket is equipped with a high-quality YKK zipper. The insulation can be rolled up into a small pouch, which saves space in the fighter’s backpack.
The thermal jacket has the following sizing system:
It is important to find out the size of the soldier you are planning to buy this product for in advance. When buying, also check the delivery method.
Another analog to this jacket is the Softie Thermal Jacket (CS95). This jacket is considered a bit outdated, but it is a great alternative for less money.
