Wind and waterproof suit (gortex)

The main purpose of this product is to protect the soldier’s body and clothing from rain and downpour. It is distinguished by the special technological effectiveness of the membrane fabric, which is able to withstand large volumes of water on the surface. Often unofficially, the name “gortex jacket” is also common. This is due to the world-famous gore-tex technology (a three-layer membrane fabric that provides a steady protection against moisture while allowing the body to breathe). The main purpose of this product is to isolate the soldier’s body and clothing from water during a downpour as much as possible while allowing the body to breathe so that it does not sweat and remains in conditional comfort in the field, when there is often no shelter from the rain and the soldier is outdoors for a long time.

The summer wind and waterproof jackets are made of high-quality, wear-resistant materials that allow the fabrics to maintain moisture insulation for a long time. These jackets have airtight taped seams for maximum moisture insulation.

The jacket is fairly lightweight, which is an important advantage given the weight that a soldier has to carry on a daily basis. The product is equipped with a zipper from the collar to the waistband, and there are also anorak versions (worn over the head). The cuffs of the sleeves usually have velcro, which can be used to adjust the tightness. There is also a special density regulator on the belt. The summer wind and waterproof jackets are available with and without hoods.

The summer wind and waterproof trousers have the same technical characteristics and are also made of technological materials and protect the soldier from heavy rain and moisture. They are less common than jackets because they have a little less versatility. This is because wind and waterproof pants are usually worn over standard trousers or underpants and can make unnecessary noise, which is undesirable in combat conditions, so before buying, clearly explain the advantages and disadvantages of this product to the soldier and act on his decision.

The summer wind and waterproof suit is usually camouflaged (often МТР or flecktarn), but there are also versions of standard tactical colors (olive, coyote, khaki).

Among the manufacturers of this type of clothing, foreign producers are most often represented, such as Mil-Tec, KomatUK or MFH, with the summer wind and waterproof suits of the British Armed Forces being particularly popular.
