Military equipment is a set of items (other than clothing and weapons) that make up the equipment of a serviceman and facilitate the carrying of weapons, ordnance, personal belongings and food.
Modern military equipment includes:
- waist and shoulder belts;
- pouches for grenades, radios, ammunition magazines, organizer pouches;
- personal protective equipment (helmet, body armor);
- tactical accessories (active headphones, tactical goggles, knee pads, belts, various covers).
A load-bearing vest is also used as military equipment, designed to comfortably carry a large number of different items.
The equipment of servicemen of different branches of the Armed Forces and military services depends on military specialties and is mainly distinguished by items for carrying ammunition of the respective types of personal weapons.
High-quality and well-thought-out military equipment for each soldier can sometimes decide the outcome of the entire campaign. It has been constantly evolving with the change in weapons and methods of warfare, becoming more comfortable and lighter. Modern tactical equipment, unlike what was used 40 years ago, includes a wider range of items. Earlier, military equipment used to be much heavier, and infantrymen had to carry it all on their backs. Everything changed in the XX century, when synthetic materials appeared, and equipment manufacturers tried to reduce their weight. Of course, nowadays, soldiers are not forced to march thousands of kilometers on foot, but sometimes they still have to cover considerable distances, carrying everything they need.
In order to transport everything necessary to perform their tasks, a soldier needs a wide range of different items. This is exactly what tactical equipment is designed for. The basis is a shoulder strap system, a load-bearing vest or a modular body armor. Pouches are hung on them: utilitarian pouches, magazine pouches, grenade pouches, first aid pouches, and utilitarian pouches. In addition, a flask or drinking system (hydrator). Tactical equipment such as body armor and helmet, ballistic goggles are also mandatory today.
