The tactical accessories most commonly used by military personnel include:
- active headphones
- tactical goggles;
- weapon belts (single-point, two-point and three-point);
- tactical knee and elbow pads.
All of these items make life much easier for a soldier at the front and enhance his combat capability.
Active headphones
These are special headphones designed to protect a soldier’s hearing from loud sounds. This accessory is in great demand among the military, whose work involves being in a noisy environment.
Active headphones work on the principle of sound control and leveling. A built-in device picks up and amplifies speech and environmental sounds, and vice versa – muffles the sounds of explosions, machine gun fire, and the sound of a shutter.
Tactical goggles
A type of protective eyewear used by military personnel to protect their eyes from small fragments, dust, wind, harmful substances, and rays. They have protective lenses of different colors. In addition to goggles, there are also protective masks.
Weapon belts
All the world’s armies, when training their soldiers, almost from the very beginning teach them to never, under any circumstances, part with their weapons. In most cases, various belts help with this. They allow you to keep your rifle (assault rifle) with you even in difficult conditions: jumps, falls, and rollovers. Each soldier chooses the belt that suits him best.
Single-point
Essentially, this is a loop that is attached to one side of the weapon, usually the rear. Such a weapon belt is very convenient when “working” in buildings or on city streets. Even a fully released assault rifle or assault rifle remains “at hand”.
Two-point
This is a classic assault rifle belt attached to two antibars. This method has several options for carrying the weapon: behind the back, on the shoulder, or over the shoulder. The two-point belt can also be converted into a single-point version. To do this, you need to hook both fasteners onto the rear antibar.
Three-point
It is often called a tactical weapon belt. It is attached to the weapon at two points. However, the system allows it to be quickly converted into a single-point automatic weapon belt, or even to remove the weapon in a split second.
The belts are made of high-quality nylon, which does not tan in the cold, is not sensitive to moisture and is very tensile. When choosing, it is important to pay attention to the fittings – carabiners, clasps, and fasteners. They should be easy to lock and unlock, withstand shocks or other mechanical stress, and be frost-resistant.
Tactical knee and elbow pads
Considerable attention is paid to protective equipment, so knee and elbow pads occupy a significant place among them. During active movements (when a soldier has to repeatedly rest his elbows, fall to his knees and change positions for shooting), a large percentage of injuries occur to these parts of the body. Among the dilapidated buildings full of broken glass and scattered pieces of bricks and concrete rubble, which are not so safe to fall on even when defending yourself, a soldier whose knee is damaged will no longer be able to perform his tasks properly. The same can be said about elbows that rest on objects for target practice. Knee pads and elbow pads are designed to protect these parts of the body.
Knee and elbow pads are available in the following types:
- oval pads that are fixed to slings on the back of the joints;
- “butterfly” pads – a lightweight version of knee and elbow pads that provides better joint mobility;
- soft inserts in tactical clothing.
To sum up, tactical accessories play an important role in protecting soldiers from injury and help them perform their tasks more safely and comfortably.
