Equipment for night time driving

The SOVA nightime driving kit allows you to drive at night with the lights completely switched off. The camera is installed on the roof of a car or armored vehicle using a multi-point mount with neodymium magnets. The camera image is displayed on a 4K monitor almost instantly, without any delays. The monitor can be tilted for easy viewing of the road. The buttons on the monitor are not touch-sensitive, but ordinary, physical ones, which is also very convenient. A special visor prevents glare on the windscreen. The driver can reduce the brightness of the image to almost zero, which means that the device can be used in complete darkness without any risks to the soldier.

Low-power infrared LEDs invisible to the human eye are used to illuminate the road. The illumination area roughly corresponds to the dipped beam. It will take no more than two hours to get used to the SOVA system and learn how to work with it.

The device is universal and can be charged from the on-board network of all types of armored vehicles. The supply voltage is 8…40 V, and the on-board network is 12/24/36 Volts. The kit uses high-quality waterproof aircraft connectors.

The SOVA 2.0 dual camera kit is designed for use in large vehicles. In addition to the front camera, there is also a rear-view camera, the image from which automatically appears on the monitor when the car is in reverse. Most often, such a set is installed on missile vehicles up to 15 metres long, such as the S-300 or Neptune surface-to-air missile systems.

For your information: The range of detection of car headlights at night from a Russian UAV is up to 20 km. The range of detection of a car or armored vehicle engine at night using a thermal imager is up to 4 km. The range of possible night detection of the infrared illumination of the “SOVA” by the enemy using the night vision device is up to 1.8 km.
