Tools and other useful items

In this article, we will list various tools and useful items that can greatly help the military manage their daily routine. Of course, this list is far from complete and does not cover the specific needs of each separate unit. However, it can give you a general idea of the needs of the military not listed in other articles:

• Plastic cable zip ties are affordable and handy. There are many ways to use them- from attaching camouflage nets to emergency repairs of clothes and shoes.
• Needle and thread. In war conditions, clothing wears out quickly, and it is not always possible to replace it with new items.
• Work gloves. In addition to tactical gloves, it’s a good idea to have ordinary work gloves. They will keep the hands protected from calluses, and they are perfect to use while doing heavy-duty jobs.
• Metal staples and large nails. The walls and ceiling of dugouts and other makeshift fortifications are usually made of wood. They can be put together with metal staples or nails. This will make the structure more reliable.
• Tarpaulin or heavy-duty plastic sheeting. It protects troops’ belongings, food, and fortifications from getting wet and provides protection against insects. It is also used as a waterproof covering for dugouts.
• Planks. Usually, it is challenging to deliver quality building supplies to the front. However, if given the opportunity, wood planks are good for reinforcing a trench overall, especially its bottom.
• Saw/chainsaw. Soldiers have to work with wood a lot, and it is better to perform certain tasks with a saw rather than an axe.
• Scotch tape -its application options are countless.
• Rope/wire – they allow you to attach building materials together, tie knots, dry laundry, etc.
