When choosing a light source for a dugout, it is important to consider several factors:
- Time of autonomous (battery) operation. The bunker lamp must work continuously for at least 10 hours to cover the dark part of the day in winter.
- The batteries on which the lamp works should be rechargeable.
- The option to dim the light. No one wants to look at a map or clean a weapon when the light is too low, as well as it is very unpleasant to sleep at night when the light is too bright. Ideally, there should be a red-light mode. It does not tire the eyes, does not make it impossible to see in the dark and does not prevent sleeping.
- Light scattering. The lamp should have a matte surface to make the light more softly and evenly dispersed throughout the room; this will save the soldiers’ eyesight.
- Also take into account the presence of fasteners, with the help of which the lamp will be attached to the ceiling, wall or supports of the dugout or placed on a surface. They should be strong and stable.
We recommend lights from the companies Fenix, Nitecore and Skif Outdoor as the more budget-friendly option.
