Sleep, warmth, and comfort of the military

In this section, you will find information about the main things that allow our soldiers to live comfortably in the combat zone

The life of a military man at the front is associated not only with constant danger but also with extremely uncomfortable conditions that a civilian can hardly imagine.

Cold, dampness, and lack of basic necessities exhaust the military, decreasing his/her effectiveness. Besides, under such conditions, they risk getting sick and have the disease progress to a dangerous stage.

First of all, healthy sleep is crucially important for any person’s mental and physical health. That is why three of the five articles in this subcategory are all about how to achieve healthy sleep in dugout or field conditions: sleeping bags for the cold period, sleeping bags for the warm period, and sleeping mats, which are an integral part of any sleeping place at the front line.

It is the choice of a sleeping bag that is the most difficult because when choosing it, a large number of specifications should be taken into account, and making a mistake can have serious consequences. Thus, a sleeping bag that is not warm or reliable enough can result in hypothermia and pneumonia. It is also essential to remember that a sleeping bag without a sleeping mat does not “work” at full.

In cold weather, it is equally important to keep warm during the day. With frozen hands, you cannot reload a weapon, you cannot direct a drone, and you cannot aim artillery. Moreover, hypothermia often leads to serious negative health effects and sometimes even death. Therefore, we are adding two more articles, namely, about a potbelly stove, which should warm dugouts and other fortifications in winter, and about heaters for personal use, which allow a fighter to protect himself from the cold even during combat missions.
